Bio-Engineered Footballs

An exhibition of bio-engineered footballs was held at Cube Gallery Manchester (as part of Abandon Normal Devices 2012) from the 29th of August through to the 7th of September.

Four prototype balls, each demonstrating bladder muscle cell adhesion to our polymer scaffold, were presented suspended in the gallery space above a custom made plinth, which displays time-lapse imagery of the living cells growing in the lab.  Also in the show were our diy incubator case, presenting tools and waste from the production process and a high definition video of various techniques along the way.
